This tour starts at the Elephant Orphanage. Your journey continues to Dambulla and Sigiriya. After that you visit Kandy and from there you go further to Nuwara Eliya and then south to Yala National Park. On the way will you see centuries-old temples, charming little villages and magnificent ancient citys. You drive trough tea plantations and might see elephants on the road, water buffalo in the wather and hopefully leopard Yala National Park. You return to Bentota along the Indian Ocean with stopover in Galle...where you can recover from tyiring travel. We work with professionally trained tour guides and organize an attractive and unforgettable program for you.
Pinnawala elephant orphanage
In about 3 hours drive you reach the elephant orphanage, where orphaned or wounded elephants are kept and treated in natural surroundings. The herd is widely confined, giving the impression that the elephants live in the wild.
Every day at 9:15 am the feeding of the "little big ones" takes place and around 10:45 am, the elephants are led to a nearby river to water them and where they enjoy bathing and washing by the mahouts (elephant guides) - you should not miss this.
Dambulla cave temple
The cave temples of Dambulla are in a more then 100 m high rock massif and consists of five cave temple which have been built in the 1st century BC. In the largest and at the same time most magnificent cave are 150 life size Buddha statues. The largest Buddha status is 14-meter in a tiny cave. In all the caves numerous frescoes from the 15th and 18th centuries and ancient stone engravings can be found. The square in front of the caves is offering a breathtaking view over the surrounding landscape and Sigiriya rock.
Sigiriya Rock
The Lion's Rock - one of the most important urban buildings of the first century.
It lies on a magmablock of an eroded volcano, and rises about 200 meters into the sky. The massive rock has adventurous steps to climb, fascinating irrigation systems & gardens as well as the world famous frescoes "Cloud Maidons". Even the entrance between two giant lion paws promises a majestic encounter with ancient Ceylon.
Kandy Toothtemple
Der Sri Dalada Maligawa oder Zahntempel genannt ist das Allerheiligste der Stadt Kandy in Sri Lanka, denn er enthält einen Eckzahn Buddhas, der The Tooth temple is one of the holiest sites in Kandy and all of Sri Lanka. It holds a eyetooth Buddha's which is highly worhshiped and once year take out for Perahera, a festival with decorated elephants. German or English speaking guide can be booked for the visit.
Nuwara Eliya
... is the highest city in Sri Lanka andIts name means "city on the plain (table land)" or "city of light". Enjoy the picturesque landscape and temperate climate, which is welcome change from the heat. Here you can learn interesting facts about drying, fermenting and preparing the different varieties of the famous Ceylon tea while visiting a tea factory.
Yala National Park
Before you go on Safari, you visit the Rawana Waterfall. Then the adventure starts and in a jeep you look out for bears, crocodiles, elephants, leopards, various bird species. Yala National Park is the most famous and oldest nature reserve in Sri Lanka with about 1500 km ² and a variety of animals.
